AC Milan Legend Warns Inter Milan: “We Are Ready & Fired Up, Derby More Than Just A Game” | OneFootball

Zlatan Ibrahimomic believes that AC Milan are “ready and fired up” for this evening’s Serie A derby clash with Inter Milan.

Ibrahimovic spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of the match, via FCInterNews. He called the derby “more than just a game.”

The Milan derby has always been a fixture with a reputation for going against the form table.

The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri usually end up playing out a dramatic match. And it is not always the team who are favourites on paper who end up winning.

That was certainly the case in the two meetings between the city rivals this season.

Over the course of the season so far, Inter have been in by far the better form. Milan, by contrast, have had an erratic season with as many low points as positive moments.

But the Rossoneri handed Inter their only defeat so far this season in Serie A. And they also managed to beat the Nerazzurri in the Supercoppa Italiana final – despite having been 2-0 down.

As a player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had plenty of experience in the derby. He represented both Inter and Milan in the fixture.

Now, the Swede is a director for the Rossoneri.

Ibrahimovic noted that “A derby is a derby.”

“You win if you face it with a great mentality. It’s more than a match, it’s two great clubs on the pitch.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic insisted that “We’re fired up and ready.”

The former striker added that “When you win, things become easy.”

“You need to find consistency,” he went on.

Ibrahimovic argued that “The club directors have to give support to put the players in a position to do the best that they can.”

“There are ups and downs,” admitted the Milan director. “The important thing is to keep having the desire to improve and bring home results.”
