FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Inter Miami CF earned a 2-nil win against Cavalier FC in the first leg of their Round of 16 series as the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup continued on Thursday at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
The visitors came close to finding the breakthrough goal in the 33’, with a deflected attempt from Jalmaro Calvin that hit the woodwork.
Inter Miami took the lead in the 61’, with Tadeo Allende opening the scoring with a powerful left-footed shot from the center of the box to capitalize on an assist from Sergio Busquets.
Luis Suárez extended the lead for the hosts in 83’, collecting possession inside the box before placing the ball at the far post with a left-footed finish.
Inter Miami goalkeeper Óscar Ustari registered a save in the match and collected his second clean sheet of the campaign.
The two sides will meet again for the second leg next Thursday at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Champions Cup after also scoring in the second leg against Sporting
Kansas City in the first round. Allende is one of three players with multiple
goals for Inter Miami in the Concacaf Champions Cup along with Lionel
Messi (4) and Luis Suárez (4).
● Luis Suárez, who scored in the second leg of the first round against
Sporting Kansas City and tonight against Cavalier, has scored in
consecutive Concacaf Champions Cup appearances for the second time
in his career, also scoring in both legs against Nashville SC in 2024.
