Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 1-0 triumph over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.
The Red Devils had a difficult outing against the Cottagers, registering just one shot on target during the entire game.
Lisandro Martinez’s deflected shot sealed a much-needed win for United.
United had a solid outing from the defensive point of view, but they were unconvincing in the final third.
Rasmus Hojlund got the nod over Joshua Zirkzee to lead the attack, but he was disappointing. The Dane lost eight out of his ten duels.
He managed just six accurate passes while losing possession on 11 occasions. Hojlund was substituted in the 58th minute after failing to attempt a shot.
The striker received a 3/10 performance rating from the Manchester Evening News, and he may be dropped for the next game.
Manager Ruben Amorim has regularly rotated between Hojlund and Zirkzee, but neither has managed to find a scoring streak.
Zirkzee will most likely lead the attack against FCSB in the Europa League on Thursday.
United were exploring a loan deal for Randal Kolo Muani before his switch to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain.
It is a clear hint that Amorim wants to freshen up the strike force, but the club don’t have any new targets.
This could change in the coming days with Hojlund and Zirkzee struggling to impress up front.
