Natalia Arroyo showed her ability to make changes due to circumstances for Aston Villa Women in their last fixture. The Villa boss played Miri Taylor in the middle of the backline, among a number of moves due to injury. Slated to face off against West Ham, she will have a fuller complement of players, and her starting XI reflects a squad that is closer to being at 100% health.
In goal, Sabrina D'Angelo will make her 21st start as the Villa No. 1. The Canadian has 52 saves and two clean sheets to her name. The back three will see familiar faces return, as Lucy Parker and Anna Patten are back after missing the Arsenal match. Noelle Maritz fills out the other CB spot. At left wing-back, Chasity Grant will line up on the outside. Mayumi Pacheco will be her opposite on the right.
Jordan Nobbs, Miri Taylor, and Missy Bo Kearns will patrol the middle of the park and look to continue the strong midfield form that has been on display for AVWFC. Finally, skipper Rachel Daly and Ebony Salmon will be up top.
On the bench, Soffia Kelly replaces Katelin Talbert as the replacement keeper option. Sarah Mayling, Danielle Turner, and Rachel Corsie are available field players for Arroyo to potentially turn to. Sarah Mayling will look to see another run on the pitch, coming off her WSL and Villa first-team debut. Mia Sorrentino, Jill Baijings, and Katie Robinson fill out the remaining matchday lineup.
Kirsty Hanson, who has been on a goal-scoring terror as of late, is not available for selection during Sunday's match against the Hammers.
Throughout the week, the Villa boss has discussed her team's aim to continue the good habits that have allowed them to win three consecutive WSL matches. Against what can be a difficult Hammers team to break down at Chigwell Construction Stadium, the Spaniard mentioned expecting a difficult challenge for the Sunday WSL match.
Given how well Villa are playing and the current form that the Villans are in, this side should be able to continue to play well and will pose a threat to the hosts. AVWFC finding a way to steal the full complement of points away from home will be the aim. It shouldn't come as a surprise if the visitors end up winning on the day.
