The Eintracht Frankfurt winger earned 43 percent of the Mainova Player of the Month vote, finishing ahead of Hugo Ekitiké, Arthur Theate and Kevin Trapp.
Eintracht Frankfurt fans have named Ansgar Knauff as the Eagles’ Player of the Month for April. Despite the 23-year-old sitting out the first two Bundesliga games of the month with a minor knee injury, the outcome of the poll was relatively clear-cut.
Knauff received 43.5 percent of the vote on the mainaqila app, leaving him ahead of Hugo Ekitiké (23.3 percent), Arthur Theate (22.6 percent) and Kevin Trapp (10.6 percent).
The number 36 has been something of a lucky charm for Eintracht, who have yet to lose a Bundesliga game in which the Germany U21 international has scored (W8 D2).
However, that isn’t the only reason the Göttingen native has blossomed into a key player since his move from Borussia Dortmund in January 2022. Knauff has appeared in 28 of the Eagles’ 32 Bundesliga games this season, starting 16 times and winning on 14 occasions. With 134 competitive games for the club to date, he’s fourth in the current squad in terms of appearances behind Trapp, Timothy Chandler and Tuta.
