Antoine Griezmann in Atlético Madrid future U-turn | OneFootball

A major update on the future of Atlético Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has on Wednesday been forthcoming online.

This comes amid confirmation that, all going to plan, the Frenchman is set to extend his contract terms in Spain’s capital through 2027.

Griezmann’s future has of course long represented a headline talking point at Atlético Madrid.

This comes with something of a decline in performance level on the part of the veteran frontman this season having given rise to widespread speculation, pointing towards an incoming move to Major League Soccer.

Such a transfer, in fact, was labelled as all but imminent on the part of a number of outlets.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then a complete U-turn now appears to be on the cards.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The French player will remain at Atlético Madrid next season. What’s more, he will extend his contract until June 2027, according to Relevo, and confirmed by Mundo Deportivo.’
