Strikers Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will be pushing to get Inter Milan back on track after their derby loss to AC Milan.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the pair will start against Venezia in this weekend’s Serie A clash.
Inter have work to do picking themselves back up after the Supercoppa Italiana.
The Nerazzurri did not just lose to city rivals AC Milan in the final of that competition. They threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2, conceding in stoppage time.
Therefore, there is a strong need for Inter to find their confidence again.
Inter will certainly need their most important players to lead the way.
Captain Lautaro Martinez will have a role, undoubtedly.
The Argentine did actually score the opener in the Supercoppa final against Milan. It mattered little considering the final result, but it suggests that the captain is getting back to his best.
And Thuram has recovered from a minor thigh problem.
Therefore, the Frenchman should be in the Nerazzurri starting eleven for this weekend’s return to Serie A action against Venezia.
The two strikers will certainly have a major role to play in trying to turn things around immediately.
