Arsenal have placed Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo on their shortlist for a potential summer transfer.
Mbeumo has been one of the stars of the Premier League season for Brentford, having scored 13 league goals for the Bees this season. Only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland have outscored the 25-year-old, whose form is attracting interest from leading clubs.
Liverpool, Newcastle and Aston Villa have all been linked, with Brentford believed to value Mbeumo in the region of £50m. Arsenal are now understood to have placed Mbeumo on their list of options for the summer window. According to Sky Sports, the Gunners are keen to strengthen their options in the final third and are weighing up a bid for the Cameroon international.
Mbeumo will enter the final 12 months of his contract at Brentford in the summer and the Bees could be forced to cash in on the player. Last summer, Brentford sanctioned the sale of Ivan Toney to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli. The England striker had also entered the final season of his deal at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea last summer as Mikel Arteta sought additional depth. However, it is unlikely the move will be made permanent with Sterling having failed to make an impression at the Emirates.
Mbeumo, who has 35 goals and 24 assists in 118 top-flight appearances, would offer a versatile option to an Arsenal attack that been reliant on Bukayo Saka.
