Aston Villa are looking to strengthen their back line before the closure of the transfer window. Axel Disasi (26) is the priority but, as reported by L’Équipe, Chelsea are blocking his departure, for now. But there are other targets, notably the highly coveted Kevin Danso (26).
Danso is the subject of interest from across Europe. The Austrian international favours a transfer to Stade Rennais, L’Équipe understands, however, that his club, RC Lens, would rather he make a move to the Premier League. Wolverhampton Wanderers have been in the race for his signature since the start of the transfer window, however, they have now been joined by local rivals Aston Villa.
The Premier League side have even submitted an offer for Danso, L’Équipe understands. Juventus have done the same. The Serie A side’s offer is a straight paid loan worth €2.5m. Their offer does not include the option to make the move permanent. The specifics of Aston Villa’s bid have not been revealed.
