Serie A side Roma are set for talks with Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini over a potential appointment today.

According to a report by Tutto Atalanta, Roma owners The Friedkins have landed in Rome to stage talks with Gian Piero Gasperini as they intend to appoint him as the next manager of the club.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in the next few hours, with Gasperini planning to discuss Roma’s future goals and the corporate structure with which he will have to deal on a daily basis if he is appointed as the head coach of the Giallorossi.

Roma are set to offer the current La Dea manager a €5 million per year contract plus €1-2 million in bonuses contingent upon sporting achievements.

Gasperini is expected to lay out his plan for the Italian capital side, including imposing his classic 3-4-2-1 formation, which he believes can contribute to the momentum of Roma as they have the right players at their disposal.
