Ronald Araujo has become the hot prospect in the transfer market right now, with Juventus and Arsenal hot on the heels of Barcelona.
Both European giants are keen on acquiring the services of the Barcelona captain this January, as they look to shore up their ranks in the defensive unit.
Coming on the back of a long injury layoff, Araujo has found it difficult to re-establish himself as a first-team regular under Hansi Flick.
That is largely because Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi have become first-team regulars, whereas the team’s outlook on Araujo has changed ever since his errors against PSG.
Keeping these things in mind, Araujo has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this January, with Arsenal and Juventus emerging as potential suitors.
A recent report from Catalunya Radio has offered more clarity on Araujo’s future, especially from Barcelona’s perspective.

The report suggests that the Catalans are not too keen on loaning out the Uruguayan international in the winter transfer window.
Barça’s primary stance is that they will not sell Araujo in the first place. But if circumstances do force a sale, President Joan Laporta will not consider anything other than a permanent deal.
This could serve as a major blow for Juventus, who have approached with a loan proposal for the defender.
Although Juventus are in dire need of defensive reinforcements, the club are not in a position to immediately spend the big bucks on someone like Araujo.
It might be a different case for Arsenal, who may have the cash to burn this January. However, the links to Emirates have not been as concrete as Juventus.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether or any of these two clubs make an attempt to sign Araujo permanently this month and lure the Barcelona captain away from Catalonia.
