Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid while Real Madrid go up against Real Sociedad across the two-legged Copa del Rey semi-finals.

Hansi Flick's free-scoring Catalan outfit thrashed Valencia 5-0 in the quarter-final, while Atletico also put on a five-star display against Getafe. Real Madrid had more trouble against Leganes, squeezing through with a stoppage-time winner from Gonzalo Garcia. Real Sociedad completed the quartet with a regulation 2-0 win against Osasuna.

The draw ensures that there could be a clasico or Madrid derby in the final - although Real Sociedad, who have been to one Copa del Rey final in the last 37 years, will have something to say about that.

When are the 2024/25 Copa del Rey semi-final ties?

After a series of one-off ties, the semi-finals will be played across two legs. The first fixtures will be on one of 25/26/27 February with the return leg coming more than a month later on 1/2/3 April.

Unlike Barcelona and Atletico Madrid - who forced their way into the top eight of the league phase table - Real Madrid are also involved in the play-off round of the Champions League, with their second leg against Manchester City set to take place the week before that first leg in February.

The final will be held at Seville's unappealing La Cartuja ground on Saturday, 26 April.
