Barcelona star Marc Casadó has this weekend provided an insight into the emotional response of his family to the youngster playing his part in the club’s recent drubbing of arch rivals Real Madrid.
The season’s first Clásico, of course, played out late last month.
In a top-of-the-table La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabéu, visitors Barcelona ran riot, en route to an eventual 4-0 triumph.
The aforemenetioned Casadó, meanwhile, was afforded a starting berth in the clash, joining Pedri at the base of Hansi Flick’s midfield.
And the 21-year-old, again, went on to shine bright.
Controlling proceedings in the middle of the park, Casadó even managed to lay on Barca’s early opener, amid a stretch of three assists in three games.
And safe to say that the significance of as much was not at all lost on the family of the Spanish international.
Speaking during an interview with COPE, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, this weekend, Casadó provided an insight into the reaction of both he and those closest to him to the Clásico rout:
“The day we beat Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabéu was the best day of my life on a football pitch so far. My family told me: we’ve been crying throughout the whole game. I’m not anti-madridista. I’m Culé, I’m a big Barça fan.”
