Barcelona star confirms massive Saudi offer: ‘I would have accepted it last year…’ | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has this weekend confirmed that he was the recent recipient of a mammoth financial offer by way of the Saudi Pro League.

Wide-man Raphinha has of course long seen his name touted as the latest to make the move to the Middle East.

Amid an explosive campaign on the books of Barcelona to date, the Brazilian international is understood to be a prime target for big-spending Al-Hilal.

In fact, as per Diario Sport, citing 365Scores, the Al-Hilal brass would be willing to fork over a sum in the region of €100 million for Raphinha.

Not only that, but a contract offer worth an eye-watering €50 million-per-season is also rumoured to be on the table for the player.

Speaking to the media this weekend, the subject of the ongoing speculation surrounding his future was in turn put to Raphinha himself.

And the former Leeds United man, during an interview with TNT Sports Brasil, made use of the opportunity to confirm a potentially life-changing recent offer from the SPL:

“I was informed about Saudi Arabia’s offer and, honestly, I was very surprised because the figures were very high. If I had been made this offer last year, I think I would have gone. At the time I was mentally devastated and this offer would have changed my life completely, as well as that of my wife and family.

“Whoever says otherwise is lying. It’s impossible to see figures like these and not think that they could completely change your life. But I think I still have a lot to contribute in Europe. I can still contribute a lot to Barça’s successes and this gives me the opportunity to continue representing the national team. This has been what has made my mind closed to money and more open to my dreams.”
