Barcelona star will miss Real Madrid clash if booked vs Valladolid | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will be forced to watch his step in the club’s next outing.

The player in question? Gavi.

Barcelona are of course primed to shift focus back towards matters on the domestic front this weekend.

Sandwiched between a pair of Champions League semi-final meetings with Italian champions Inter Milan, the Blaugrana will lock horns with La Liga basement dwellers Real Valladolid on Saturday night.

Heavy rotations are expected on the part of boss Hansi Flick for the clash, with one player widely tipped to benefit coming in the form of the aforementioned Gavi.

In the case of playing his part at the Estadio José Zorrilla, however, the midfield starlet, as alluded to above, will be required to walk the disciplinary tightrope.

Gavi currently sits on four yellow cards for the La Liga season.

Should the 20-year-old be booked once more against Valladolid, he will in turn be suspended for Barcelona’s ensuing league outing, against none other than Real Madrid.
