Barcelona youth talent ruled out for the remainder of the season | OneFootball

The difficult season being endured by the reserve outfit at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Thursday taken another turn for the worse.

This comes amid confirmation that Barca Atlètic are set to be without the services of a member of the club’s attacking ranks for the foreseeable future.

The player in question? Óscar Ureña.

Winger Ureña for his part made the move to Barcelona last summer, departing Catalan neighbours Girona for the Blaugrana.

His debut season, however, has since proven to be an altogether difficult one.

Though the 21-year-old showcased promise with his early performances, he has been hampered by a persistent muscular issue throughout the campaign.

And the same problem, it is claimed, has this week forced Ureña under the knife.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Óscar Ureña, who has been able to participate little this season due to injuries, has undergone surgery on his anterior rectum and will miss the rest of the season.’
