Italy and Inter legend Beppe Bergomi is convinced Thiago Motta ‘can’t do without’ Manuel Locatelli at Juventus: ‘He’s too intelligent.’

Juventus have secured four consecutive victories in Serie A and the latest win over Cagliari on Sunday allowed the Bianconeri to jump to fourth place with a two-point lead over Lazio.

Sky Sport Italia pundits, including ex-defender Bergomi, analysed the Old Lady’s performance and their recent results in the league.

“A few players are not fit. Cambiaso, Douglas Luiz, and I still think he [Motta] can’t do without Locatelli,” said Bergomi.

“He’s too smart and intelligent for this team. He tried to strikers, even if Kolo Muani played wide, and it was so and so, but they dropped a bit in the second half.”

Juventus have collected 49 points in Serie A, securing 12 wins, 13 draws, and losing one game. The Bianconeri have scored 43 goals and conceded 21.

Italy international Locatelli has made 24 Serie A appearances for Juventus this season, totalling 1,784 minutes on the pitch. He hasn’t yet scored a goal but has provided two assists.

Juventus have two more games coming up as they’ll host Empoli in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday before a home Serie A meeting with Verona next Monday.
