Borussia Mönchengladbach

Gladbach secured a fantastic 2-1 victory against Stuttgart last weekend, and the significance of a win this weekend cannot be understated, as only four points separate 11th-placed Borussia Dortmund from fourth-placed Leipzig. A three-point haul could significantly alter the standings for Gerardo Seoane’s side.

Die Fohlen have netted 32 goals and conceded 30 in the Bundesliga this season, marking them as the second-lowest-scoring team in the top 11 while maintaining the joint sixth-best defensive record.

Despite back-to-back victories, Seoane’s men have lost twice to Frankfurt this season, falling 2-0 in the league on September 21 and 2-1 in the DFB-Pokal on October 30. Nevertheless, Gladbach boast an impressive home record, winning six of their last eight matches at Borussia-Park.

Team News

Monchengladbach will be without forwards Alassane Plea and Franck Honorat, while Tim Kleindienst remains a doubt. As a result, Nathan Ngoumou, Kevin Stöger, Robin Hack, and Tomas Cvancara could feature in the attacking setup.

Midfielder Rocco Reitz is unlikely to recover from a foot injury, paving the way for Philipp Sander to partner Julian Weigl in midfield. At the back, Ko Itakura and Nico Elvedi are expected to line up in front of goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt's 1-1 draw against Wolfsburg last time out saw Dino Toppmöller's side pick up a second draw in consecutive Sundays, after drawing 2-2 away at Hoffenheim just a week prior.

Though 13 points adrift of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, Frankfurt hold a six-point cushion over fifth-placed Stuttgart, with the club aiming to strengthen their grip on Champions League football.

Toppmöller will be encouraged by his team’s attacking displays since Omar Marmoush’s move to Manchester City in late January, with Eintracht scoring seven times in five matches post-transfer.

However, the Eagles are winless in their last three matches, drawing twice and losing once, after securing victories in their previous four fixtures. Their away form has also been concerning, with four defeats, one draw, and just one win in their last six Bundesliga road games.

Team News

For the visitors, Frankfurt may deploy a back three of Nnamdi Collins, Tuta, and Arthur Theate due to the absence of Robin Koch.

Wing-back Junior Dina Ebimbe’s calf injury will likely see Rasmus Kristensen and Nathaniel Brown fill in as wide defenders. Meanwhile, Igor Matanovic remains sidelined with a foot injury, making Mario Götze, Ansgar Knauff, and Hugo Ekitike the preferred attacking trio.
