Brighton XI vs Manchester City – Predicted lineup and team news

Brighton travel to Manchester City this afternoon hoping to extend their impressive winning run.
The Seagulls have won six straight games in all competitions, a club record as a top-flight side. Brighton’s good form has carried Fabian Hurzeler’s side into the race for Champions League qualification and secured progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
With maiden silverware and Champions League football realistic aims for the run-in, it could be a dream debut season for the Premier League’s youngest-ever permanent manager. Currently seventh, a first-ever victory at the Etihad will see Brighton move above Manchester City and level on points with Chelsea in fourth.
City are aiming to bounce back from a 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest. Callum Hudson-Odoi’s winner condemned the champions to a ninth league defeat of the season last weekend. It’s the joint-most the club have suffered in a season under Pep Guardiola.
Fabian Hurzeler remains without Seagulls skipper Lewis Dunk, who is targeting his return from a rib injury after the international break. Matt O’Riley, who scored the winner in the reverse fixture, is facing a similar timeframe.
Tariq Lamptey will return for Brighton after serving a one-game ban last weekend, though the Seagulls remain without Ferdi Kadioglu, Joel Veltman, James Milner, Igor Julio, and Jason Steele.
Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Hinshelwood, Van Hecke, Webster, Estupinan; Baleba, Wieffer; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Joao Pedro.
Manchester City host Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday 15th March 2025. Kick-off at the Etihad Stadium is 15:00 GMT.
