Bayern Munich's UEFA Champions League play-off opponents Celtic received a welcome boost last night when the Scottish club's social media announced Daizen Maeda will be available for Wednesday's game.
A fan favourite at Parkhead, Maeda was due to sit in the stands against Bayern Munich after picking up a straight red card in Celtic's 1-0 win over Young Boys Bern on Matchday 7 of the UCL league phase.
The Japanese international didn't feature in their most recent European fixture against Aston Villa. UEFA initially imposed a two-game ban for the winger's 'violent conduct' after a duel with Mohammed Camara.
However, positive discussions between the Scottish champions and European football's governing body has reduced the ban down to one game - which Maeda served against Villa.
The Hoops posted to their social media accounts at 9:35pm (CET) regarding the successful appeal. Their fans celebrated the outcome with pumping fists and a barrage of positive comments online.
With 21 goals to his name in all competitions, the news will be joyous for Brendan Rodgers while Bayern Munich will need to be extra wary of the 27-year-old's threat tomorrow evening.
