Champions League qualification is doable for Aston Villa

It's an amazing time to be an Aston Villa fan. After Saturday's win against Nottingham and with some other results around the Premier League, a top-six finish is looking more than doable. There are only seven games remaining. Each match moving forward only increases in significance to ensure being able to play in Europe next season.

Although other sides will need to continue to drop points, with how Villa are playing at the moment, fans may not have to actively root for, or more accurately, against anyone for the month of April. It is a tight race between fourth and ninth, for example, in the table. As long as AVFC continues to take care of business on the pitch, they should be in a good enough position through their own merits to finish high enough.

Naturally, assessing where Villa would be after a potential loss for someone higher plays into the equation. Luckily for the fanbase, though, Unai Emery has this team playing so well together that it looks like he will be able to continue the positive momentum through May and climb in the EPL standings in his own right, without needing outside help.

Final Aston Villa push

Granted, things can change in an instant in the Prem. As spectators saw against Forest, a dominating side can soon be caught chasing the game at any moment. With the Spaniard in charge, though, there is a legitimate, valid feeling of the boss finding ways to right the ship and make any needed adjustments whenever things are about to turn south.

A lot of focus is understandably on the other competitions for Emery; however, he will likely view all matches as equally important. Making up for, as he put it, 'lost points' will be something that he strives for. Proving, moreover, that this collective can continue to get results in the world's toughest league will mean a lot to him. He will and is capable of ensuring that Aston Villa qualify for a Champions League spot for 2025/2026.
