Omari Kellyman is unlikely to be loaned out to a Championship club despite a lot of interest in him according to Ben Jacobs.
The Janaury window is now into the final week and Chelsea are expected to be busy as they look to bring one or two players in, and move a number on.
Renato Veiga has joined Juventus on loan, whilst the Blues are looking to bring an attacker in and have been linked with Mathys Tel and Alejandro Garnacho.
Chelsea are still looking to find solutions for the likes of Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka, but are seemingly no closer to finalising any exits.
Another player who was expected to be on the move is forgotten man Kellyman, who joined in the summer in a deal worth £19m from Aston Villa.
The teenager has yet to make an appearance for the Blues and has been sidelined for the past few months with a hamstring injury.
The youngster had been expected to go out on loan for the second half of the season, with a lot of interest from Championship clubs.
Kellyman has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.
However, Jacobs has provided an update on the situation and reported Chelsea’s stance on the teenager has now changed.
He took to X.com and said:
“Understand Omari Kellyman is now unlikely to go on loan to a Championship club despite significant interest.
“Chelsea prefer to focus on getting Kellyman 100% fit and work with him on his development at Cobham. No risks being taken with Kellyman.”
Quite what the future holds for Kellyman is unclear, but it’s hard to imagine him getting near the first team picture given the competition for places in the squad.

Kellyman’s signing was very much to help with Profit and Sustainability rules, with the Blues seemingly agreeing to sign the youngster in return for Ian Maatsen moving to Villa for more than £30m.
Unfortunately for Kellyman it feels like he will be another player who won’t appear for the first team, will have a number of loan spells and then be sold.
