Chelsea are stepping up their interest in Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries ahead of the summer window according to reports.
The Blues had a quiet January much to the disappointment of supporters, and the club now face a crucial summer window, with planning already said to be underway.
Chelsea need a striker, centre back and left winger, whilst there’s a possibility they could look to add another midfielder.
However, it appears the Blues might also be eyeing up another position, and Spanish outlet Fichajes have reported Chelsea are interested in Inter right back Dumfries.
The report adds the Blues are one of several Premier League sides weighing up a move, with Arsenal and Manchester United also believed to be interested.
Fichajes claim Dumfries is valued at €50m and Chelsea would see him as a long term solution, with a number of defenders possibly moving on.

Dumfries is 28, so he’s very much outside the age Chelsea have looked to recruit at under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.
The Dutch international is a top quality player, but the Blues are already well stocked at right back with Malo Gusto, Reece James and talented youngster Josh Acheampong.
The only way a move would possibly make sense is if James is converted to a midfielder, and Maresca admitted he’s viewed the 25-year-old as a midfielder since day one.

It remains to be seen what Chelsea do with James, but with Andrey Santos set to return at the end of the season and play a key role in the squad along with Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia, it doesn’t appear there’s space in the squad for another midfielder.
Dumfries has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, and if he does leave Inter this summer, at this stage it appears unlikely he will be playing his football at Stamford Bridge next season.
