Real Madrid are ready to step up their pursuit of AFC Bournemouth and Spain centre-back Dean Huijsen in their bid to strengthen their defensive roster before next season.
The 20-year-old youngster has been identified as the priority target by Los Blancos even though there has been some hesitation due to his €58 million release clause.
Huijsen is also attracting serious interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, who have been pushing hard to sign him.
However, as reported earlier today, the Netherlands-born Spanish defender is giving Real Madrid top priority.
Building on that, SER Deportivos reports that Huijsen has taken a key step toward a possible move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Indeed, a law firm now holds a signed authorisation to negotiate on his behalf with the Spanish capital giants, acting with the full approval of the player and his father, Donny, who usually manages his affairs.
While the firm is aware of Real Madrid’s interest, they have not yet received a formal written offer – a situation that is causing some concern.

Meanwhile, several Premier League clubs have already submitted firm proposals, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal.
Among the English clubs pursuing Huijsen, Chelsea are currently the best placed. They have made the youngster a top priority and want him in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.
Nevertheless, the law firm holding the authorisation to negotiate with Real Madrid is still waiting for an official bid from the Spanish heavyweights.
Real Madrid, for their part, do not deny their admiration for Huijsen. However, the Merengues are waiting before submitting an offer, as they wish to understand incoming manager Xabi Alonso’s preferences for the 2025/26 season before making a move.
Real Madrid are also considering the possibility of including players in the offer who may not fit into Alonso’s plans, potentially to lower the cost of the transfer.
Within the club, Huijsen is considered the best available centre-back on the market based on a combination of quality, age, and price. With the player also keen, it is now time for Real Madrid to take the next step.
