The AC Milan management are looking ahead to the January transfer window and another report has claimed that Genoa’s Morten Frendrup is in their sights.

Calciomercato.com confirm La Gazzetta dello Sport’s story from earlier in the day, stating that Milan are once again evaluating Frendrup after making previous contacts. The Danish international is tied to Genoa by a contract expiring in 2028, but his asking price could well be set to drop.

Last season the 24-year-old surprised everyone with his quality and consistency of performance levels, while this season he is continuing his good form. Milan really like Frendrup because he has stamina, dynamism, an excellent reading of the game and tactical versatility.

They believe Frendrup is ready for a big club in Serie A and the directors are considering a move as early as January. The economic problems that have affected Genoa’s owners – the 777 investment fund – could help things.

Frendrup is very attached to the Grifone and would prefer to finish the season there but at the same time he would be happy to help the club with the money from his transfer. Last season Genoa wanted €20m, but now the price could drop and Milan will battle Brentford for his signature.
