Serie A outfit Como are reportedly considering a move for Davide Ancelotti, son of Real Madrid head coach Carlo, in the event that Cesc Fabregas leaves the club in the near future to join Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Fabregas is among the frontrunners for the Leverkusen job following the announcement that current head coach Xabi Alonso will leave at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Though not officially announced as of yet, it is expected that Alonso will take over from Carlo Ancelotti as head coach of Real Madrid when the Italian steps down to take over as Brazil national team head coach.

In a series of falling dominoes, the Alonso and Ancelotti news means that Como could also be on the lookout for a new head coach if Fabregas moves to Leverkusen, who will play in the Champions League in 2024-25.

Though Fabregas has hinted several times this season that he would like to continue with the project he has started at Como, recent reports claim that a move to Leverkusen at the end of the season is very much a possibility.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and Corriere dello Sport, one of the options that Como will look at if Fabregas does leave is Davide Ancelotti.

The 35-year-old has followed his father, Carlo Ancelotti, for the last nine years, serving as assistant head coach at Bayern Munich, Everton, Napoli and Real Madrid, which means that he already has Bundesliga, LaLiga and Champions League titles in his collection.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Scottish Premiership giants Rangers are also among the clubs interested in a deal for Davide Ancelotti.

Como, meanwhile, have other options on their shortlist as well, including former Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa, who is currently head coach of Madrid’s U19 side.
