An insight into the role played by Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham in the decision of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold to make the move to Spain’s capital has on Monday been provided.

The name of England international Alexander-Arnold has of course dominated the headlines across all of Europe over the course of the day to date.

This comes after the 26-year-old finally announced his long-awaited decision to depart Premier League champions Liverpool this summer.

Alexander-Arnold will leave Anfield as a free agent, expected to put pen to paper on a pre-contract with the aforementioned Real Madrid at any moment.

And as alluded to above, playing an important role in this eventual call on TAA’s part was a current member of the first-team setup in Spain’s capital.

As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Jude Bellingham, a close friend of Alexander-Arnold, has long been talking up life at the Santiago Bernabéu during conversations with his fellow countryman:

‘Jude Bellingham, in private, has long been pushing for this. More than pushing, it is about telling Trent every time they met how good life is at Real Madrid in terms of the club, the city, how he found a completely new love in Madrid in terms of love for the game, love for the fans. He found a fantastic place. So he was sharing this experience with Alexander-Arnold.’
