VfL Bochum's first-choice goalkeeper, Patrick Drewes, has been ruled out of Saturday's derby against Borussia Dortmund.

As Bochum coach Dieter Hecking revealed on Friday, the 32-year-old is sidelined due to illness.

“Patrick Drewes is ill. He was absent today due to a fever and will not be able to play. Timo Horn will therefore be in goal,” Hecking said at his pre-match press conference.

Bochum will be without a number of key players, with Myron Boadu (muscular), Felix Passlack (eye) and Maximilian Wittek (suspended) also out.

Despite this, Hecking said he has a "good feeling" going into the game.

"We have a few personnel problems, so we have to improvise a bit. But we're not going to moan about it, other players will be on the pitch. The team will play a good derby.

"I have a good feeling about tomorrow. Those who come into the team want to do well. That's the basic requirement. I have a lot of faith in the boys."
