Paulo Dybala has had his Roma contract automatically extended, and is now tied to the Giallorossi until the summer of 2026, but La Joya is still able to leave the Stadio Olimpico in the summer if the right offer comes in.

Dybala had a clause in his deal that would see his contract automatically extended by a further year if he featured in a certain number of matches in 2024-25. He has now played in 24 matches between Serie A and the Europa League this term and has recently seen his contract automatically renewed as a result.

The Argentine could still leave Roma in the next transfer window, as the €12m release clause that existed in his previous contract is still valid after his latest extension, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

He has enjoyed a more consistent run of appearances for Roma since the appointment of Claudio Ranieri at the back end of 2024, starting in eight league matches in a row before Sunday’s 2-1 win away against Udinese.

La Joya came off the bench in the second-half of Sunday’s Serie A match. You can see how it unfolded on the Football Italia Liveblog.
