England international Georgia Stanway is set to be sidelined for "several months" after undergoing knee surgery.
The midfielder's club, Bayern Munich, confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday, revealing that she tore the lateral ligament in her right knee during a training session this week.
Stanway has a long road to recovery ahead of her sparking fresh concerns from England fans about her fitness going into Euro 2025, taking place between 2-27 July.
The 26-year-old was instrumental in the nation's Euro 2022 and World Cup 2023 successes, starting every game under head coach Sarina Wiegman.
Stanway joins a handful of other key England players already unavailable, including forward Lauren Hemp and defender Alex Greenwood.
The Lionesses are back in action next month as they head to Portugal for their first UEFA Nations League fixture, before hosting Spain at Wembley Stadium.
