Former Roma attacker Roberto Pruzzo discussed the recent criticisms aimed at captain Lorenzo Pellegrini.
In an interview with Radio Radio Mattino, Pruzzo spoke about the recent transfer news linked with the Giallorossi and weighed in on Pellegrini’s difficult situation at the club.
“I read about Roma’s interest in Beto as Dovbyk’s deputy. Usually, you only change the center forward if there are a lot of games to be played. This is because rotation doesn’t work, since you have a player who goes through periods.”
“I think some roles are untouchable but obviously football has changed and there is a need for a valid alternative,” he added.
“Pellegrini? There is a lot of talk about him in Rome, but if Spalletti, who knows him better than anyone, often plays him as a starter with Italy, there is a reason. If I were Pellegrini, I would think about leaving Roma.”
