FLW can exclusively reveal that Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Southampton are chasing a deal for Oxford United star Tyler Goodrham.

Middlesbrough, Southampton and Coventry City are all eyeing moves for Oxford United midfielder Tyler Goodrham, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.

The 21-year-old has been one of the standout performers in Oxford United's first season back in the Championship since the 1998/99 campaign.

A Republic of Ireland youth international, Goodrham had been strongly linked with a move away from The Kassam Stadium during the winter transfer window, when the likes of Sunderland, Swansea City, Leeds United and Coventry City were all understood to be tracking the versatile midfielder.

Sources have exclusively told Football League World that Championship trio MiddlesbroughSouthampton and Coventry City are all eyeing up a potential summer swoop for Goodrham.

The young midfielder enjoyed a superb season in the second tier this past term, with him and centre-forward Mark Harris both leading the way for the most league goal contributions in Oxford's squad with nine each.

Goodrham can operate in a host of different positions across the midfield and forward areas, with Transfermarkt's data showing the youngster played in as many as seven different positions in the Championship during the 24/25 season.

He is most commonly seen deployed from left midfield, but can and has operated on the right flank, and even through the middle as either a number 10, or as a more traditional central midfielder.

Tyler Goodrham's contract situation should see Oxford United land big fee

In July 2024, Oxford United announced via the club website that Goodrham had put pen to paper on a new 'long-term contract'.

As such, whilst the length of his new deal was not disclosed, it can be assumed that the young Irishman has a number of years remaining on his contract with the U's.

Therefore, should any of Middlesbrough, Southampton, Coventry City or any other interested party make a formal approach for Goodrham this summer, then United look to be in a very strong position when it comes to negotiating the best possible fee for him.

Goodrham is a product of Oxford United's academy, having first joined the club as a 14-year-old, before progressing into the senior side back in 2019.

He's now made over 140 appearances for Oxford, and is one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the U's academy system in recent times.

Therefore, should he decide to call time on his stay with the club this summer, it will surely be a very tough and emotional decision for Goodrham to make.
