The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will feature 32 teams competing across 63 games in 11 cities in the USA between 15 June and 13 July this year to determine football’s one world champion. Bayern are among the competing clubs for the inaugural edition of the new-format competition that is set to be played every four years.

The new trophy, described by FIFA as “striking, innovative and fascinating”, with its gold design featuring several rings by luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co has been on display in New York as it prepares to embark on a world tour taking in the home cities of the competing clubs between January and June. The first stop will be Lisbon. The trophy is set to come to Munich at the end of March.

Better than a class reunion

Joined by legends from other clubs, Elber sent the trophy on its world tour. “It’s always fun to see old teammates and opponents and casually chat with them. It’s better than a class reunion,” the Brazilian said.
