Personally, I always prefer natural grass. That’s my view, and I have no issue saying it. The club has limited experience on synthetic pitches this season, and notably, Danilo missed Flamengo's sole previous outing on such a surface—during the Carioca semifinal at Nilton Santos—due to a minor muscular issue. This time, however, he is fit, even though signs point to him starting on the bench, with Léo Ortiz and Léo Pereira expected to anchor the defense.

Danilo also reflected on the demanding nature of the calendar, a theme repeatedly mentioned by coach Filipe Luís. “We already knew the schedule would be difficult. It’s a topic for deeper discussion by those who run football, not just coaches and players. The calendar is tough for everyone, so we try to find ways to be as fresh as possible each match. Without a doubt, this is an important game that we need to win to stay at the top of the table,” Danilo remarked.

The spotlight around Flamengo’s lineup has sharpened, especially with squad rotation under Filipe Luís, who opted for a mix of emerging and established names in the Copa do Brasil.
