Florentino Pérez holds personal meeting with Real Madrid star | OneFootball

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez this week went out of his way to hold a personal meeting with a member of the club’s defensive ranks.

That’s according to Marca, who highlight Raúl Asencio as the player in question.

Defender Asencio, for his part, is fresh off an altogether difficult evening in midweek.

Afforded a starting berth in Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey meeting with Real Sociedad, the 22-year-old was subjected to disgusting ‘die’ chants on the part of the home crowd at Anoeta.

Asencio was left visibly affected by as much, culminating in his withdrawal at the interval.

And eager to show his support for the young stopper in the days following, as alluded to above, was Blancos president Florentino Pérez.

As per a report from Marca:

‘A meeting was held in which the president of Real Madrid told Asencio to stay calm, that he had his full support and that the club was not going to sit back and do nothing.’

The player is said to have thanked Pérez for his concern, which adds to further backing on the part of several teammates and members of coaching staff.
