Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

After securing a Gameweek 31 draw with Chelsea, Brentford were also able to pick up a point at Emirates Stadium, just days after Arsenal defeated Real Madrid 3-0.

A solid defensive performance limited the Gunners to one big chance, as Kristoffer Ajer (£4.4m) made a brilliant first-half block to deny Gabriel Martinelli (£6.5m) from close range.

A counter attack eventually broke the deadlock but, not to be denied, the Bees equalised 13 minutes later. Michael Kayode’s (£4.5m) cross to the back post was nodded down by Nathan Collins (£4.5m), allowing Yoane Wissa (£6.5m) to swivel and hook the ball past the goalkeeper.

Next up is Brighton, as Thomas Frank’s side aim to rediscover their brilliant home form of earlier on. Seven of the first eight Gtech Community Stadium matches ended in victory, yet none of the latest eight have.

The Spotlight

Wissa is now on 15 league goals, though he’s only credited for 14 in FPL as his second strike against Ipswich in Gameweek 9 was originally seen as assisting an own goal. The Gameweek had already ended when it was credited to him three days later.

That correction puts him one behind team-mate Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) and at a much cheaper price. Although Mbeumo has more points due to midfielders getting extra credit for goals and clean sheets, Wissa outdoes him for shots and big chances.

In fact, he ranks sixth throughout the league for the latter (26) and has a quicker rate of chances than his friend (every 33.9 minutes).

At this time of very few appealing FPL forwards, the affordable Wissa won’t miss Blank Gameweek 34, while three of his final four opponents are currently in the bottom half.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, Harvey Barnes (£5.9m) is continuing to shine while stepping in for Newcastle. The midfielder scored twice versus Manchester United and followed that up with a goal and an assist against Crystal Palace in the second match of Newcastle’s Double Gameweek. Barnes has secured attacking returns in five successive matches.

A big Gameweek 32 scorer was Wolves’ Rayan Aït-Nouri (£4.8m). The defender keeps tormenting FPL managers, as his great early autumn spell attracted some buyers. But a goalless 21-match run then brought just three assists. He ended that on Sunday, with 14 points versus Tottenham.

A special mention should go to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale (£4.4m), too. Southampton lost 3-0 to Aston Villa but, incredibly, he saved two Marco Asensio (£6.2m) penalties.

In Demand

Gameweek 33 sees Crystal Palace once again play twice, with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City also having a double. Unsurprisingly, their players are this week’s most popular purchases.

Bukayo Saka (£10.5m) has been back from injury for 107 minutes, already contributing five shots and a goal. Whereas Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) netted six times in his last seven starts.

Starring behind the Egyptian last Saturday was Kevin De Bruyne (£9.3m) and over 110,000 FPL managers see the romance in owning this playmaker during his farewell tour.

As for Villa, Morgan Rogers (£5.6m) keeps defying lineup predictions - he seemingly never gets rested. After all, it’s hard to bench someone who has two goals and three assists in his last five.

Captaincy

It’s a time of high chip usage, whether it be a Bench Boost, Assistant Manager or Triple Captain activation.

The instinctive place to look for armband contenders is Double Gameweek assets Bukayo Saka and Omar Marmoush, though the Arsenal attacker is yet to start a league match since his comeback.

He could continue to be managed carefully in preparation for the Champions League semi-finals, while Man City’s Marmoush has tricky opponents in Everton and Villa.

Therefore, some managers may still opt to captain Mohamed Salah’s (£13.8m) single outing at Leicester. Setting a record for points in an FPL season, 17 of his 32 matches have ended with a double-digit tally.
