Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray have taken an interest in signing Rennes striker Amine Gouiri (24), according to a report this Tuesday from Foot Mercato. The outlet understands that the Istanbul-based team are looking to bolster their attacking options and have seemingly identified the Algeria international as a potential fit. The Lyon Academy graduate has never really justified his €28m transfer fee when Rennes smashed their transfer record in 2022 to sign him from OGC Nice.

The 24-year-old Gouiri has logged 30 goals and 11 assists in 99 games with Stade Rennais. His numbers have considerably dipped this season as he only registered two goals and one assist in 19 games. Gouiri is under contract until 2027. Foot Mercato adds that Galatasaray are likely to propose a loan move and that Bundesliga sides RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen previously enquired about Gouiri in the summer. L’Equipe mentions that Rennes have no intention of selling their No. 10 and that the latter has no wish to leave Brittany during the winter transfer window.
