Gasperini Partially Walks Back Remarks About His Future

Atalanta gaffer Gian Piero Gasperini received an award in Coverciano and offered an opening to playing out the final year of his contract rather than leaving in the summer talking to Sky.

“I hope and wish our Champions League qualification isn’t taken for granted. It’s our max objective at this time, even though we tried to bluffed a little about the Scudetto. Gasperini is optimistic Atalanta will land the place.

“Maybe it’ll take more than 70 points, but we’ll evaluate it week after week. There are some head-to-head clashes. If we get the results we should, the others won’t be able to catch us. There la crème de la crème of Italian football behind us, but we have a cushion. It’s the most coveted goal for everybody.”
