Marc Cucurella is happy he’s added goals to his game as he felt that’s one of the main things he needed to improve on.

Cucurella is having a brilliant season for the Blues and has established himself as a key player under Enzo Maresca, and one of the best left backs in the league.

The 26-year-old has been one of the Blues standout performers, and Jason Cundy would have the Spaniard second behind Moises Caicedo in Chelsea’s player of the year.

Maresca has praised Cucurella this season, and the way he’s turned his career around at Stamford Bridge is quite something given he was booed by supporters in his first season.

Cucurella hopes to stay at Chelsea for a few more years, despite being asked about a return to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Spain international has been speaking about his form and is pleased he’s been able to improve one aspect of his game.

“One of the things that I felt that I could improve upon was my ability in the last third, more goals and more assists,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“I would say this season I have had the opportunity to score a few goals. I’m very happy because I feel very good and I’ve been able to help the team.”

Cucurella has excelled in the inverted role and is now a threat in both boxes, recently scoring in back to back Premier League games against Southampton and Leicester.
