An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Iñigo Martínez has on Wednesday come to the fore online.
This comes after the defender set alarm bells sounding in Catalunya’s capital, en route to Barcelona’s Champions League exit last night.
Hansi Flick’s troops were of course back in action yesterday evening, making the trip to San Siro for the 2nd leg of a Champions League semi-final tie.
The aforementioned Iñigo for his part featured from the off in the clash, at the heart of the visitors’ defence.
En route to an eventual 4-3 defeat, though, the Spanish international was hauled off prematurely, clutching his hamstring, giving rise to concerns surrounding a potential fitness setback.
Just days out from a crunch La Liga showdown with Real Madrid, Iñigo, in turn, saw his status thrown somewhat up in the air.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then those of a Barcelona persuasion need not fret.
As per a report from Diario AS:
‘Initial assessments ruled out a hamstring injury, instead diagnosing a minor overuse injury. Barring any setbacks, Íñigo will be at the Clásico on Sunday in Montjuïc.’
