Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani says that he has no problems with being substituted off for midfielder Davide Frattesi.
The 22-year-old spoke to InterTV after the match, via FCInterNews. He stressed that the Nerazzurri need everyone in the squad, and said he was happy to give Frattesi a chance to play.
Asllani was one of the notable names in the Inter starting eleven yesterday against Venezia.
The Albanian international started in place of Hakan Calhanoglu in holding midfielder. Calhanoglu was absent due to injury.
However, Asllani did not see out the full ninety minutes.
Rather, during the second half, Davide Frattesi came on to replace the former Empoli midfielder.
Frattesi’s exclusion from the Inter starting eleven had come under scrutiny. That is due to the fact that he has been the subject of some transfer rumours this month.
Recent reports have indicated that Frattesi has grown dissatisfied with his playing time. And that Roma are keen to try and sign him, possibly as early as during the January transfer window.
However, the fact that Frattesi did come off the bench during the second half looked like a real show of faith in the Italian international from Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
“We did well in midfield,” Asllani said. “We’re all happy that Frattesi came on.”
“We have to keep going like this. Because we need everyone.”
After yesterday’s victory over Venezia, Inter midfielder Asllani said that “We’re taking three points home.”
“I’m happy on a personal level,” the 22-year-old continued. “I try to take advantage of the minutes that the coach gives me.
“And then I grow even more if I can play from the start.”
“We knew that Venezia are a team with a good style of football,” Asllani said after yesterday’s match. “They have a great coach.”
“They had also caused problems for us at the San Siro.”
“But we did well,” Asllani said.
And the Albanian also noted that “We have to get better at killing matches off, but it’s not easy.”
