Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi was not able to handle the notable absences from the starting eleven against Bologna yesterday.
As TuttoMercatoWeb highlight, the player ratings in Italian media criticized the Nerazzurri coach for not finding a more effective way to set his team up in the 2-2 Serie A draw.
Inter coach Inzaghi hardly had an easy situation in planning for yesterday’s match against Bologna.
The Nerazzurri coach was not able to field two of his regular starting midfield trio. Both Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were absent due to injury.
While Inzaghi could hardly take the blame for key starters being out, he still had to adapt.
And in the view of Italian media, the coach didn’t quite manage to do that.
Inter looked like they were trying to play at too methodical a pace. Particularly in the opening exchanges, where Bologna pressed with a high tempo and denied them space.
Inter’s approach relied too much on precision and mechanical understanding in passing.
That came down to Inzaghi not adapting the gameplan to the players he had available, Italian media have argued.
