Ivan Juric has confirmed that Aaron Ramsdale is a potential Southampton injury scare, before their upcoming clash against Newcastle United.

So far this season, Southampton have only picked up one win in the Premier League. The Saints last picked up three points against Everton right at the beginning of November. Since then, they have been chasing the same high.

Largely to thank for the win against the Toffees was Aaron Ramsdale. While it was a long time ago, I still remember the England international going to ground with the ball at his chest in the dying moments of the game. He really made the Saints fans feel safe in that game.

Through no fault of his own, Rambo picked up an unfortunate injury shortly after this clean sheet. The former Arsenal goalkeeper went through a spell on the treatment table, with the Saints struggling to keep up their form in his absence.

Indeed, Ivan Juric has confirmed that Aaron Ramsdale is an injury doubt ahead of Saturday's fixture against Newcastle United. The Croatian coach confirmed that Ramsdale picked up an unspecified blow in training.

In his own words (quoted by the Daily Echo), Juric said: "We had a problem with Rambo, the goalkeeper. He did something yesterday on the training pitch, we will see if he can play tomorrow."

Hopefully, when the club doctors carry out their medical test tomorrow ahead of the game, Aaron Ramsdale is deemed fit enough to play. If anyone can inspire the Saints to a result, it's that man between the sticks.

Aaron Ramsdale has played in many important matches in his career, so he understands the pressure which playing against Newcastle brings. With Alexander Isak in red hot form, it is difficult to imagine Southampton getting a result if Rambo isn't between the sticks.
