Manchester City may be set for a transfer pursuit from Serie A once more this year as one prominent club in Italy sets their sights on one of Pep Guardiola’s biggest names.
There has been widespread links between clubs in the Italian top-flight and Manchester City concerning both potential arrivals into the Etihad Stadium as well as transfers out into the European nation this summer.
With Hugo Viana and Txiki Begiristain working on the next generation of Pep Guardiola’s playing squad, it has come as no surprise to see some of Serie A’s biggest and best names continuously linked with Manchester City – some more reliably than others.
The latest of those stars is AC Milan’s versatile central midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, with the Netherlands international viewed by reliable reports in England as a ‘serious summer target’ for Etihad Stadium officials.
And a strong relationship between the two clubs may not only benefit the possibility of that deal coming to fruition, but also another move from the Etihad to San Siro after Kyle Walker’s short-term loan deal agreed upon in January.
That is according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, who claims that the Serie A giants are now interested in a summer swoop for Etihad Stadium star and England international, Jack Grealish.
The future of the winger has been thrown into doubt this season as a direct result of his severely limited consistent game-time opportunities under Pep Guardiola, despite the manager’s public commitment to the former Aston Villa captain.
Grealish was a crucial member of Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering operation during the 2022/23 season en route to a Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League Treble success, but has largely struggled to hit those heights since.
Many have wondered whether Manchester City would be open to a temporary agreement this summer to enable Grealish to find his form once again, before returning to the club later down the line.
However, the current understanding is that such a move is not being considered by the club, while a permanent sale of Jack Grealish has not been entirely ruled out, despite the obvious barrier to many potential suitors being the finance of a potential deal.
