Ivan Juric will focus on what he can control ahead of his potential last game on the Roma bench versus Torino. He began his presser by addressing the Fiorentina collapse.
“We faltered emotionally, and I didn’t expect it after 40 days of great passion. But it could become a positive turnaround. Sometimes it is better to lose that way than one-nil and hide things that have been brewing for years.” “I’m not thinking about the future. I do my job, and what happens, happens. Our squad can’t afford exclusions. We need to include everybody as much as possible. They have to understand the significance of the jersey, this place, and what needs to be done.”
Juric didn’t hide the internal tension.
“There have been some big arguments, but it’s better for them to happen early. We righted the ship in that sense. The squad and I are aligned about our respective tasks. It’ll stay between us. We told each other the truth, perhaps violently at first, then more reasonably. I’m the coach and must manage the team. I just have to focus on making it perform the best it can. Instead, the players have to play. Everybody must do his part.”
Juric has been in touch with the owners.
“We had some contacts and spoke about everything, which took some time and thoughts away from the pitch-related matters. I haven’t changed my mind. I don’t see big defects, and I prefer to be entrusted with the responsibility of making the decisions by the management. We have to obtain results, and the rest is just a distraction.”
