Real Madrid will travel to the Reale Arena tomorrow to take on Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie.

As has been already reported, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to rest both Federico Valverde and Thibaut Courtois for the game against Imanol Alguacil’s men tomorrow night.

Now, there may be a possibility that another superstar name is left out.

Kylian Mbappe not training

Indeed, as reported by Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe is absent from training today.

The update states that the French forward is dealing with a dental issue leading to his absence from the final training session before Los Blancos’ trip to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad tomorrow in the Copa del Rey clash.

At this point, it is still unclear as to whether this will affect his availability for the match against La Real or not.

But for now, the former PSG superstar is not participating in the training sessions with the rest of his teammates.

Having had a slow start to life in the Spanish capital, Mbappe has come into his own in recent months and has been thriving for Real Madrid.

As such, if he is unavailable for the game against Sociedad, it would come as a big blow for Ancelotti & co.

More clarity on his situation should emerge when the manager addresses the media in his pre-match press conference later today.

But given what’s on the line and the importance of the match, one can expect Mbappe to be available for Real Madrid on Wednesday night, although there is a possibility that he might start on the bench or be rested altogether.
