Juventus’ focus is not solely on the January transfer market, as they reportedly took advantage of their recent trip to Atalanta to express their interest in three La Dea’s stars to the club’s coach and director.
The Bianconeri consider the signing of a centre-back as their current transfer priority but are already working on strengthening their squad for the next season when they are expected to look for reinforcements in every department.

Corriere dello Sport reported that Gian Piero Gasperini and Tony D’Amico, Atalanta’s manager and sporting director, respectively, had dinner with Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli at the end of Tuesday’s Serie A meeting.
While they were not planning to meet each other at a restaurant in Bergamo’s city centre, the newspaper suggests the trio made the most of the chance to discuss their side’s perspectives and exchange jokes about potential future negotiations.
What is sure – Cds continues – is that Juventus are interested in Ederson, Matteo Scalvini and Mateo Retegui, and while they’re aware La Dea won’t be open to letting them go in January, they’d be interested in understanding negotiation terms for next summer.
The Brazilian midfielder could prove the most difficult to sign, as he’s ended up on the radars of Premier League sides Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as Real Madrid, with Atalanta likely to demand at least €60m to sell him.

The Old Lady are also looking at the Italian defender, who has just recovered from a lengthy injury and is expected to get plenty of playing time in the second half of the season. However, his price tag could also be particularly expensive, as Atalanta already rejected bids in the region of €35m in the past.
Finally, Juventus are said to be monitoring Italy international Retegui as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic in case the latter decides not to renew his current contract, which expires in 2026.
