Bologna and Juventus shared the spoils in one of the most anticipated Serie A fixtures in the race for the Champions League. Khephren Thuram stunned the Renato Dall’Ara crowds by scoring an early opener, but Remo Freuler pulled off an equalizer in the second period. Both clubs had their chances to win the contest, but the scoreline remained intact. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who settled for a 1-1 draw against their direct Champions League foes, Bologna.
Michele Di Gregorio – 6
The Italian goalkeeper didn’t have too many saves to make. He thought he had Freuler’s shot covered, but it deflected off Veiga’s foot.
Pierre Kalulu – 5.5
It wasn’t a bad outing from the French defender, but perhaps he should have done better to close down the cross that culminated in Bologna’s goal.
Renato Veiga – 6
It was a solid display from the Chelsea loanee, but his attempt to block Freuler’s shot dramatically backfired.
Nicolò Savona – 6.5
An impressive performance from the young right-back who had to cover at the back due to an injury crisis. Pulled off several timely interceptions, especially against Riccardo Orsolini.
Timothy Weah – 5.5
An industrious display from the American, but it lacked a marquee moment.
Manuel Locatelli – 6
The Juventus captain kept things tidy in the middle of the park. He did well to protect the backline, but his presence wasn’t felt in the attacking phase.
Khephren Thuram – 7
The French midfielder was lucky to beat Lukasz Skorupski with a tepid shot, but he arguably deserves a goal based on his dynamic display.
Andrea Cambiaso – 7
After weeks of underwhelming performances, the Juventus wingback produced a stellar display. Delivered the assist for Thuram, scored a goal that was disallowed for a marginal offiside, and had the better of Orsolini in their enticing duel. But unfortunately for the Italian, he left the pitch after picking up yet another knock.
Nicolas Gonzalez – 6
The Argentine found mild success in his dribbling, but his final product was missing at times. He left it all on the pitch, but was still disappointed to leave the pitch when Igor Tudor decided to replace him.
Weston McKennie – 6
The Texan’s clever flick instigated the opener, but could have given away a spot-kick with a risky challenge.
Randal Kolo Muani – 6
The PSG loanee fought for the ball all over the pitch, and helped his team bring the ball forward. But he wasn’t too far away from the goal to pose a threat.
Alberto Costa – 5
The young wingback squandered a sitter due to a heavy first touch. Left Juventus fans sweating every time he received the ball.
