…the balance of play: We got off to a good start in the opening minutes but then lost control and were too passive. Our play improved significantly once we made the changes. The second period was really, really good. Both on a footballing level and in terms of the fighting and running. The team had Leipzig pinned back. It's crazy what we squandered in the second period. We had an unbelievable number of top-class chances. We of course should have scored a goal at some point. Then we could have turned the game around and maybe even won given the high number of goalscoring opportunities.

…the conceded goals: It was once again a set-piece that led to the goal (editor's note: 2-0). That had already set us on the path to defeat against Augsburg. We have to have better positioning. It's too easy to score a goal like that against us. If you think about how much we had to invest to get a glimpse of goal, we then made it so easy for Leipzig.

…his take on the game:We know that it wasn't enough in the first period. The team performed significantly better in the second period. We absolutely should not have lost this match today; we could've even won it. But in the end, the result is once again zero points.

…the table situation:We will keep trying everything and we will also win games again – especially if we play like we did in Lille or in Leipzig in the second half. We're of course very disappointed, because today was an important game against a direct rival.

…Marcel Sabitzer's injury:I can't say much at the moment, other than it was not possible to continue. If Sabi has to come off, then that's usually not a good sign.

…the upcoming international break:We won't have the team together for a few days now, but we'll try to get them back together relatively quickly in the second week and then prepare them for the home game against Mainz. To be honest, I'd rather we carried on playing because I have the feeling that we're improving in many areas. I don't feel the break is needed now.Transcribed by Boris Rupert
