Ousmane Dembele remains a major doubt for the second leg of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League semi-final against Arsenal, after failing to train with the squad on Thursday.

PSG lead the tie 1-0 thanks to Dembele’s fourth-minute strike at the Emirates, but the winger was substituted in the 70th minute after feeling discomfort in his hamstring.

Initially, PSG manager Luis Enrique suggested the problem was not serious. “I don’t know about Dembele,” he told Canal+. “The medical tests will be done tomorrow. It’s nothing serious, it’s rather minor, but there’s still some doubt for the return leg. We are a real team. If Ousmane can play, great. If not, we’ll still see a team.”

However, hopes of a quick recovery have faded.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Dembele did not take part in full training on Thursday and instead worked individually with physiotherapists in the gym.

He has been ruled out of PSG’s domestic match this weekend and is focusing entirely on returning for Tuesday’s return leg.

PSG otherwise have no injury concerns, with a full squad available apart from Dembele.

His potential absence would be a blow for the French champions, given his early impact in the first leg and his ability to stretch Arsenal’s defence.
